Today at Cootes we have had our Practice Standards Inspection. It is very much like an Ofsted Inspection and I just wanted to say how proud I am of my outstanding team.

They all work so hard, strive to do the best they can for me and all my clients and also make every day fun and a joy to be with them all.

Our inspector said I have "a special remarkable practice." That makes all the hard work worthwhile and that accolade extends to my clients as you are all part of this special place.

Thanks to all,
Ros.x

⚠️IMPORTANT NOTICE⚠️

Leptosporosis is a bacterial disease which is spread via the urine of infected animals such as rats and dogs. It is a zoonotic disease which means it can also spread to humans.

Treatment is not always successful so protection through vaccination is recommended.

We have seen two cases of leptosporosis in the last 6 months at Cootes, one of which is one of the newer strains to be seen in the UK. We are therefore are recommending that all dogs are now updated to the Lepto 4 strain vaccine, even if your dog is not due their booster just yet.

The vaccine comes in a 2 part course, with the second vaccine being exactly 4 weeks later, and for the next year we can offer the 2nd part of the vaccine free of charge.

Please speak to the vet for further advice.
